Maryana Torocheshnikova: Nine years ago, on 7 October 2006, Anna Politkovskaya, Novaya gazeta journalist and human rights defender, was murdered. She was murdered in the entrance hall of her own apartment building by a number of shots fired almost at point blank range. In 2014 a jury found five defendants guilty of this crime: the brothers Rustam, Dzhabrail and Ibragim Makhmudov, their uncle Lom-Ali Gaitukaev, and a former law enforcement officer, Sergei Khadzhikurbanov. In June of this year the Supreme Court of Russia upheld the decision. However, this is not the end of the case. The person who ordered the killing of Anna Politkovskaya has yet to be found. Is the investigation continuing, and is there any hope to find out the truth ab out this crime?
